A blustery day

We had quite the storm last weekend. Heavy rains and winds left New Canaan and many other surrounding towns without power for nearly a week. We lost power Sat. March 13th and it did not come on until the 17th. There were trees and power lines down everywhere. Thankfully, a friend let us use his apartment in the city and we were able to have a warm place to stay with a shower, and save the majority of our freezer items! While we were in the city the kids and I went to the American Museum of Natural History. I didn't have my double stroller in the city that day, and Pack walked through the entire museum, all morning long, like a champ! He had a special hot dog lunch at Shake Shack that day. Another day we went to Chelsea Piers and let the kids run all day long. Pack even got to participate in a soccer lesson, which he loved. And we played at the beautiful parks in Battery Park City. We had gorgeous weather in the high 60's and spent lots of time outdoors.

Spring is in the air!

After having so much snow, our week of 50 and 60 degree weather is just what we needed! Crocus and daffodils are pushing up through the grass and mulch all around the yard. Elizabeth had a new word yesterday, "book". She loves when we chase her. She climbs everything. And when she knows that she's doing something she shouldn't do, she starts moving even faster before we can catch her.

A few weeks ago, I was in the city for the day and Pack decided he was going to use the toilet all day for everything! So we have been doing lots of potties in the toilet! Very exciting. Leaving the house is a whole different story though...

Elizabeth's hair is getting so long, this is the only way I can really keep it out of her eyes and I don't want to cut it!

Playing with daddy.

We have a wet weather spring that has popped up in front of our house. It used to be about 15 feet away from the house but it is now only about 7 feet away from the house! It sounds like we have a fountain running when you are standing just outside the front door and Pack, if he gets loose, runs and jumps in the muddy puddles. Two pairs of wet shoes later, we are in need of some rubber boots! Pack starts soccer in April. And I chopped his hair! I'll have to get a picture of the new look.
Here is my first smocked insert that I did for some shortalls I'm making for Pack. I counted out the pleats incorrectly, so its not perfect, but its just going to get dirty! I finished some ducks last week, but sent them off to Aunt Amy for construction before I could take a picture. I'm working on matching bishop dresses for both right now!
